The better question is not whether the foreign price is lower. The better question is whether the final landed cost and risk profile still make the purchase worth it.
The listed price is only the starting point
Foreign prices usually do not include the full cost an Indian buyer may face. Currency conversion, payment spread, shipping, handling, customs uncertainty, travel assumptions, and seller margin can all change the final number.
A product that looks cheaper abroad can become close to Indian pricing once the real route is considered.
Warranty can be worth more than the saving
For expensive electronics, warranty support can be more valuable than a small discount. Phones, laptops, GPUs, cameras, gaming handhelds, and audio products can all require service after purchase.
If an imported unit is difficult to repair or replace in India, even a visible saving may not be worth the uncertainty.
Seller reliability changes the decision
A foreign price from an official retailer is different from a suspicious marketplace listing or an unknown reseller. Seller reputation, invoice terms, return policy, and support response matter.
For niche imported products, a trusted seller at a slightly higher price can be safer than an unknown seller offering the lowest price.
A small saving is usually not enough
If importing saves only a small amount, buying in India is often the better practical decision. You get clearer invoice support, easier returns, faster delivery, and fewer warranty questions.
Importing becomes interesting only when the saving remains meaningful after landed cost, warranty risk, and seller reliability are considered together.
